Samsung NX mini: A powerful camera with classic design

Samsung might have received a lot of negative reviews recently on their design aspect in the smartphone field, but their newbie on the smart camera segment has a top notch aesthetic appeal. Samsung NX mini, a 21MP shooter is one of the slimmest camera with interchangeable lens. Built with plastic body which has a look of leather (similar to Samsung Galaxy Grand 2) and brass aluminium, the device looks a piece of class. But the killer feature is it’s 22.5mm thin design. The NX mini not only looks amazing but the camera part of it also might be of great interest for the new aspiring photographers.

The NX mini comes with either a 9-27mm f3.5-5.6 ED OIS zoom lens or 9mm f3.5 Prime lens (depending on the kit you pay for). The image quality with auto settings is as good as Nikon D5100 or rather better on most of the environment. It produces sharp colours with great details. Professional photographers can manipulate with the manual mode to get the best out of their snaps. It performs really well under low light conditions even without flash. It has a 3inch capacitive touch screen that can flip almost 180degree to help

take a wide angle self shot, you just need to blink your eyes and it will capture a selfie in 3seconds. The touchscreen makes it really simple to operate the camera though the sunlight visibility is not that great. Also there are some smart modes just like the Galaxy camera which comes in really handy. The video recording capability of this device is also really good. It can record a video upto 1080pixel at frame rate of 30fps. It’s anti shake feature also a great aspect in terms of video recording. Although lack of 4k video recording capability is a disappointment. It has all the characteristics of an entry level DSLR and with a weight of 158grams, it is the most portable DSLR that all budding photographers might want to carry.

Check out this promotional video from Samsung:

The camera has a Micro SD card slot and houses a 2330 mAh battery under the same casing. The battery lets you take 530 shots with 9-27mm lens, which is quite good for heavy feature oriented camera like this. The camera comes with wifi and NFC which really makes it easy to share files with other devices. It has button at the top of the shell called Direct Link, when pressed it asks how you want to share the file. Also if you already own a Samsung smartphone then you can connect it with your NX mini and take photos remotely. These smart little features which really makes this camera more appealing,  because these gives users that little edge of comfort and ease.

The Samsung NX mini launched in India on 20th August and available only in Amazon at a price of Rs. 22,900. So, whether you are a rookie or professional photographer this camera is really a product that you can to carry regularly. It could be a replacement tool for DSLR to those who want start their photography carrier. Eenfo-PaL gives a thumbs up to this product.
